Contract / General terms of participation

Filling in the form, I as an applicant, accept the following conditions:

1. I guarantee to have filled in the form correctly. I realise and accept that in case I have, intentionally or with gross negligence, given false or inaccurate information on my personal background or any other information stated in the application form, my currently running applications will be immediately cancelled and any further access to STEP can be denied.
2. If ELSA requests it, I will provide ELSA with all necessary documentation to check the validity of the information I stated.
3. Once selected by a company/organisation, I will conclude an employment contract, internship agreement or any other form of contract with this company/organisation, setting out the terms and conditions of my traineeship.
4. I explicitly confirm that under no circumstances, I will be considered, act nor represent myself as an employee of ELSA, or as a service provider acting on behalf of ELSA.
5. I will attend the traineeship I applied for if I am selected. (Exceptions - "Valid Reasons" defined under Article 9).
6. I will take my traineeship seriously.
7. I guarantee to have all valid documents and legal papers for attending the traineeship, latest at the beginning of the traineeship (working permit, visa, insurance etc.) or, if it is stipulated differently in the description of the traineeship - at the date stated in this description.
8. I can cancel my application without any reason before the application deadline. In this case I shall notify the STEP officer of my local ELSA group as well as send the email about my cancellation to step@elsa.org.
9. I can withdraw my application with valid reason after the deadline has passed. As a valid reason is considered:
   1. Any meanwhile necessary medical treatment.
   2. Serious family issues.
   3. Serious changes of the traineeship conditions to those being stated in the Traineeship Form.
   4. Similar to above.
10. Once the traineeship has started, I may cancel the traineeship only if it differs significantly from what was stated on the STEP Portal or if the traineeship provider where I will follow my traineeship, even when notified, does not provide me with adequate working conditions in accordance with the respective national laws.
11. I will cover any damages which come up due to my failures (wrongly filled in forms, no attendance to the traineeship or any other misuse of the traineeship).
12. I will fill in the Traineeship Evaluation Form within 4 (four) weeks after the traineeship ends. Otherwise ELSA will not provide me with the STEP Certificate.
13. I consent that, if selected, my name can be communicated to the respective ELSA groups.
14. I do hereby authorise ELSA to collect, store, process and keep the data contained in this form for the administrative procedures and the selection process of the Student Trainee Exchange Programme and the further statistical purposes. I acknowledge that the data contained in my application form will be recorded and kept at the server of ELSA International.
15. I realise and agree that ELSA does not bear responsibility for protecting and keeping information that is equal or similar to the content of my application form, which i) is or becomes publicly available, other than as a result of a breach of an obligation by ELSA, ii) is obtained from a third party which has no duty of confidentiality to me or iii) is obtained by a third party through intercepting electronic messages or hacking electronic databases/server of ELSA.
16. I consent that my application can be reviewed by the officers of ELSA and can be archived for administrative procedures on the server of ELSA International as well as made available to aforementioned officers and respective traineeship providers in a password protected online location.
17. I am aware that the application can be changed by ELSA only for the purpose of fixing technical mistakes and errors. I consent that the whole file can be forwarded to all traineeship providers I applied to.
